Super Smash Bros. UPDATES

For those that had missed it during the huge amount of news and announcements coming out of this year’s E3, Nintendo unveiled a whole host of new details about the forthcoming Super Smash Bros. games for the 3DS and Wii U.

Firstly, they confirmed that the release date of the former had been pushed back from it’s proposed summer launch to October 3rd, with the Wii U version to launch later.

We were also shown three new characters: PacMan, Palutena (from Kid Icarus) and Miis, which come in three varieties: Swordsman, Brawler and Shooter. They join a roster which already includes: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Bowser, Princess Peach, Rosalina and Luma, Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong, Link, Toon Link, Zelda, Sheik, Kirby, King Dedede, Marth, Ike, Pikachu, Charizard, Lucario, Geninja, Samus, Zero Suit Samus, Little Mac, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pit, Olimar, Fox, Sonic and MegaMan.

We also know that the game will be compatible with GameCube controllers, thanks to a recently announced device making them compatible with the Wii U console.
